FAQ
What waste rate for flooring?
Straight lay: 3-5%, herringbone or chevron: 7-10%. Irregular rooms may require more waste allowance.
What flooring sizes are common?
Solid wood: ~900×120mm, laminate: ~1200×195mm, SPC: ~1220×180mm. Longer planks give a more spacious look.
Why round up the result?
Flooring is sold and installed in whole planks. Rounding up ensures enough material, and leftovers can be kept for future replacement.
