FAQ

How is display size calculated?

Using Pythagorean theorem: height = diagonal ÷ √(ratioW² + ratioH²) × ratioH. Then width = height × ratioW ÷ ratioH.

What are common aspect ratios?

16:9 is most common for TVs and monitors. 21:9 for ultrawide. 16:10 for some laptops. 4:3 for older displays and tablets.

Does a larger diagonal always mean a larger area?

Not exactly. A 27-inch 16:9 display has ≈ 2010 cm². A 27-inch 21:9 is wider but shorter at ≈ 1740 cm². Aspect ratio significantly affects area.
